April Monthly

Today we had a record 36 players show up for the club monthly. We had great weather and everything went fairly well, with a few exceptions. There were a few things to be learned with a monthly this big…

  • Sign-up sheets should be available for all classes to be offered. People should sign in on their own, and select their division. 2 people to do sign in might not be a bad idea with a large group.
  • Players sign in and select their preferred division. If there are at least 3 for a division, set it up. If not combine with broader division. Don’t try to set it up after sign-in is nearly finished.
  • CTP’s should be managed by someone other than the person doing sign-in
  • We will develop a starter-hole list chart, showing best starting holes by number of cards
  • Continue developing the software to list and sort players, and include payout calculations. The first draft worked great, but didn’t do payout. Improve list scrolling navigation, too.
  • Start sign-in earlier than 9:20am.
  • Use the scoreboard for groups larger than 3-4 cards.
While some of these items may only apply to larger turnouts, in general they might be good to work into the regular process. If there are more than 12-14 players, we should have a club “staff” plan to have members step in to help, with clear tasks and areas of responsibility.
